Data Visualization with DOMO at the Cisco Store

Cisco Store DOMO

Data analytics are at the core of good business decision making. At the Cisco Store, we use DOMO to help us visualize and analyze trends and patterns in our data to better understand our business. On this week’s episode of Tech Tuesday, our Tech Expert Brian Domine will show off some of the DOMO visualizations we have displayed in the store, and how we use them to learn more about our online sales.

With DOMO, we have the ability to seamlessly connect our data sources through pre-built data connectors. On this week’s episode, Brian will be showing off the visualizations that were created through the DOMO Magento2 connector. The output datasets from this connector are updated in real time, on our own, personalized schedule. On this episode, Brian is only showing off our online sales analysis. However, when we do return to the office, we will be able to overlay our online sales data with in store sales, connecting the various datasets in the backend of the tool.

Watch the video now!

When creating DOMO visualizations, we can easily choose a previous or current period of time, or compare period over period. Brian will walk the audience through a variety of visualizations that we have filtered for the current period of time. He’ll show off our visualization of daily online sales, broken down by geographic store. We use this card to understand how our different online stores are performing compared to each other, as well as sales trends over the current month. We can also take a look at a year-to-date view of our online sales, to understand when there were spikes in orders or sales, and overlay that information with events like Cisco Live, the holiday season, new store openings, etc. to better understand sales trends.

With DOMO, we can also create cards that display our bestsellers across our different stores. This helps us understand what products our customers are most interested in for the current month, and allows us to better tailor our marketing efforts. Brian will show how the visualization helps us see that the Opti-Dri polo is currently our bestseller. Shop the look here. Additionally, he’ll show that our brand new collaboration with the Connected Asian Affinity Network has also risen in top sales this month. Shop that collaboration here, and give back to the CAAN Fighting AAPI Hate and Discrimination fund.

Today, we displayed our Magento2 ecommerce sales data visualizations through DOMO. At the Cisco Store, we also have the ability to connect our data to analyze marketing activities on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, email marketing through Klaviyo, and more. Learn more about the capabilities of DOMO here.

Throughout this episode, our Tech Expert Brian will demonstrate how customers can use Cisco Store Xplorer to learn more about the Cisco Vision digital signage solution deployed in the store, and even change the screens in real time through the augmented reality application.

Watch the video now!

Through the customizable hotspot, this time in bright blue, customers have the options of viewing the Welcome, Learn More, and Campaign Ads options. When Brian clicks on the "Welcome" option, the in-store signage will change to display a message just for him, personalized through the Xplorer app. He is welcomed to the store with a 10% off coupon code that he can scan to redeem at checkout. While interacting with the Cisco Vision hotspot, he'll also have the opportunity to learn more about the technology, which will bring him to a window with further information and product details on the Cisco Vision webpage. Finally, with the Campiagn Ads option, Brian will be able to see, in real time, the screens change to display the latest Cisco brand campiagn ads created by the Hatch, Cisco's in house creative agency. At the Cisco Store Tech Lab, we are constantly exploring new ways to educate our audience about our Cisco + partner ecosystem. In this episode of Tech Tuesday, we're showcasing our latest method of showing off our technology, with the newly launched Cisco Store Xplorer app. Cisco Store Xplorer is an augmented reality application empowering every user to learn about and engage with Cisco and partner technology. Through the lens of a mobile device, hotspots reveal in store technology which can be further explored at the touch of a screen. Xplorer will be available in the app store upon return to office. On this episode, our Tech Expert Brian will demonstrate how our audience can use the Xplorer app to learn about our Meraki MV 12 cameras.

Selling Smarter with Square at the Cisco Store

Square PoS

On this week’s episode of Tech Tuesday, our Tech Expert Brian Domine will be highlighting one of our most important partner technologies: Square. We use Square technology as our point of sales system at the Cisco Store. Square helps us to quickly and easily check our customers out, and integrates on the backend with other technologies that provides us with a holistic view of what’s happening in our store.

To begin, Brian will show off the different hardware elements of our Square Pos sales system. The Square system is made up of the large white terminal with a touch screen, easy for the salesperson to rotate around for the customer to sign for their purchase. Our Square PoS also contains a card reader, that has the ability to read chips and pins, but also allows for contactless payment forms, such as Apple pay, Google pay, etc. When checking out a customer, Square gives the customer the option for a text receipt or email receipt, as well as contactless, no signing option.

Watch the video!

Why is using Square so important at the Cisco Store? Square helps us better understand the store program and our customers, by giving us the ability to integrate with other partner technologies deployed throughout the store. As Brian explains, we can integrate our Square PoS with the Dor occupancy sensors we have deployed to perform people counting. This integration helps us correlate the number of people in the store and the number of purchases during a certain time, helping to calculate our conversion rate. Learn more about Dor at the Cisco Store here

Square also has the ability to integrate with our online Magento, enterprise edition ecommerce system. This allows us to create a buy online, pick up curbside solution at the Cisco Store. Interested in learning more about that solution? Check out the full demonstration at our virtual booth in the World of Solutions at Cisco Live 2021! Register here. Learn more about Square PoS here.

Controlling the Cisco Store Environment with Meraki Sensors

Connected Cisco Store

Cisco Meraki is one of the Connected Cisco Store’s biggest partners. Throughout our Tech Tuesday series, we’ve explored how we can gather insights with Meraki Motion Search, and how Meraki Object Detection helps us understand customer behaviors. On this week’s episode, we’re diving into yet another Meraki technology: Meraki sensors. Our Tech Expert, Brian Domine, will demonstrate to the audience how we can use the Meraki sensors deployed throughout the store to gain real-time visibility and insights into our physical environment.

Watch the video!

The episode begins with Brian showing off the first Meraki sensor on the side door of the store. This MT20 is an open-close sensor, that can also be placed on server rack doors. If the doors are open for too long, we can set up personalized alerts to notify us of any issues within the store or back of house. Next, we'll see Brian show off the MT10 sensor, which can monitor humidity and temperature levels throughout the store. We use this sensor in the back of house area of the store, to monitor the relative humidity and temperature near our servers.

We’ll also take a deep dive into the Meraki sensor dashboard, which helps us track environmental data and understand trends. At the Cisco Store, we use this to understand when people entered the store and if the temperature is ideal for the servers in the back of the store. With personalized, flexible alerts, we can track entries into the store and ensure optimal conditions with remote monitoring. These sensors are simple and easy to deploy through the store, using our existing Meraki camera infrastructure as a hub for network connectivity. All we need to do is insert the batteries and mount them in the relevant places and we have real time visibility! Learn more about Meraki sensors here.
